(PLA) Polylactic acid is a resin made from crops with high starch content such as corn and potato. PLA is biodegradable and fully compostable. It uses 65% less energy to produce than conventional oil-based plastics and generates 68% fewer greenhouse gasses and contains no toxins.

When polylactic acid (PLA) is incinerated, its combustion heat value is the same as that of incinerated paper, which is half of that of incinerated traditional plastics. Moreover, the incineration of POLylactic acid absolutely does not release toxic gases such as nitrogen and sulfide. The body also contains lactic acid as a monomer, indicating the safety of the breakdown product.
